Wednesday, Oct. 30

Highlights:

  • This morning to continue and celebrate our learning about Diwali, we did our part for the rangoli our school is making. Ask me what a rangoli is and how it is made.
  • For Literacy, we shared our gourd/pumpkin writing with one another. We had to guess which gourds others wrote about based on their description. Ask me if my partners guessed mine correctly!
  • In PE, we played Trick or Treater tag. Ask me how we play and how many candies my group collected.
  • Today in Math, we started to work on a show what you know for place value. Ask me what kinds of questions we answered today and how I felt about it.
  • In Science, we learned about natural items Indigenous groups used and how they used them. Ask me what example I chose to write about.
  • For Social Studies, we continued our learning about wants and needs. We sorted different cards with our groups. Ask me what were some things our group chose to put under each category.

Reminders:

  • Tomorrow is Orange and Black Day. Students are welcome to dress in orange or black. They are also welcome to wear a costume if they wish. No masks or accessories. Students costumes should not interfere with their learning. If students want to wear their regular clothes, they can do so too!
  • If students want to wear their traditional clothing for Diwali they are welcome to do so tomorrow or Friday.
  • Picture Retakes are on Nov. 5.
