Tuesday, Sept. 24

Highlights:

  • For Math, we finished our base ten creations. We also reviewed creating numbers and trading them. Ask me to show you how I could draw and trade a number that has 3 hundreds, 18 tens, and 9 ones.

  • For Music, we made our own songs or patterns with the boom whackers in groups. After, we performed them to the class.
  • In Literacy, we read the story I am Human. We then wrote about what mistakes we have made and the solutions we had for them. Ask me what I included in mine.
  • This afternoon, we learned about the significance of the eagle feather and what it represents. We read a story called The Eagle Feather. We then wrote a word on our own feather that we feel represent who we are. This was then added to a school display!

Reminders:

  • Thursday is Orange Shirt Day.
  • On Thursday from 4:30 - 7:00pm will be the New Year Open House. Please see yesterday's blog for details.
  • We will be going on our community walk on Thursday. This was the walk that we have postponed last week due to the weather. We will be going at 1:30pm and returning by 2:15pm. The route is below.
  • One of our reading rotations is listening to stories. We are asking that students bring headphones that they can use during this time if they have any available. Please note, that headphones must be wired.
