Tuesday, Oct. 22

Highlights:

  • Today in Math, we started to learn about rounding numbers to the nearest ten. Then we learned a new game to help us practice this skill. Ask me to round the numbers 32 and 75 to their nearest ten.

  • For PE, we went on our second walk to raise awareness about Chanie Wenjack.
  • During Literacy, we read a story about Diwali and then chose a holiday/celebration that we have with our families. We then used our senses to describe the holiday. Ask me what I wrote about.
  • In Social Studies, we decorated our "luggages" that we will be using for our learning about the different countries. We decorated our luggages by creating stickers of places we have been. Ask me what I included in mine.
  • For Health, we talked about how the zones are all okay but some behaviours are not. Ask me to give you an example of a behaviour we might see in each of the zones.

Reminders:

  • Please continue to send any gourds or pumpkins that you are able to donate for our learning. We would greatly appreciate it!
  • Pizza Fun Lunch for those that ordered.
  • There is no school Friday.

Interested in volunteering in your child's classroom or with them on any upcoming field trips?

If you would like to volunteer in your child's classroom, or for any upcoming field trips, please fill out the Annual Volunteer Registration by logging into your MyCBE Parent Account and clicking on the gold icon that looks like this:

Once you fill in the form, we will complete the next step for you at the school.  (Don't forget to upload a proper 'selfie' of yourself holding your ID...it can't just be a picture of the ID itself, you must be holding it.)

All parents that volunteer must have both the Annual Volunteer Registration form filled out, as well as a current Police Information Check.

If you need a Police Information Check, I can send you the letter you need after you fill in the Annual Volunteer Registration form.

We look forward to having lots of parents or guardians in to help out this year!

Thanks!

Mrs. Brinson

Principal
